Avery's Oktoberfest

Our middle son turned 12 yesterday and we celebrated with an Oktoberfest. It was a perfect October day! We tried various German inspired foods and had a good time with family.

Here's a photo of the unappetizer... I mean appetizer my husband made. That gelatinous stuff is herring. I was a party pooper and couldn't bring myself to even sample this dish. Thankfully, everything else was tasty!
Goulash over spatzel, bratwurst, asparagus with Hollandaise sauce.
These apple turnovers had to substitute for streudel. We also had Black Forest cake.
We got our son an amp for his guitar. I found the perfect cutting file of an acoustic guitar over at Penny Duncan Creations and made him a matching card. http://pennyduncancreations.blogspot.com/ Check her out if you have a cutting machine and MTC or SCAL. She has spectacular files and she offers them all for free. Really awesome!

My kids have been taking pictures...

I just downloaded a bunch of pictures off of our camera and I'm impressed with the ones several of our children took. Above is a sampling from our 9 year old son.

And above are some from our 14 year old son. Aren't they superb?????

And these from our 6 year old baby girl:

We're celebrating our middle son's 12th birthday today with an Oktoberfest. It's a gorgeous fall day!

Imagine photos showing problems with certain cartridges

Below is an example of how the cartridges SHOULD be and AS THEY ARE REPRESENTED TO BE. The background of the bird is one of the coordinating paper colors from the Imagine More cartridge. It's a lovely and perfect match.

Country Life and Happy Hauntings cuts

Ahhh, I just love this blue and brown color scheme - do you recognize it? It's the same as the engagement card I made for N and C in a previous post. I just can't seem to get enough of it. It's so pretty.

And here's my first Halloween card of the season. I cut the cat from the HH cartridge and used a Martha PATP punch set for the mat on which the cat rests. This is the first time I used one of these sets for a card. It was really easy and I think it's a nice accent. I stamped the backgound paper using a background stamp. All of this is new to me and I'm having so much fun experimenting.

Like Father, Like Son..... robot style

This was my first attempt at using the Cricut to make a 3-D object. I think Daddy Robot turned out pretty cute, don't you? My 9 year old chose the colors - he did a great job. The little green guy was something that I painted a couple of weeks ago.

Perhaps they are admiring this sight from our backyard.

Cricut Circle

Ahh, the day is finally here. I got my new Cricut Circle kit in the mail and the long awaited French Manor cart. Also, the new message board is up and running. It looks great! I thought I'd celebrate with a new easel card.

Cricut Housing blade set up

Recently, I begged for help from the ladies at the Cricut MB in order to get my Expression to cut detailed cuts. I successfully followed a series of tips and tricks and my engagement card with it's tiny cuts was the result. I'm thrilled beyond measure!!!!! Someone asked me to post a photo of the housing showing the arrow lined up with the seam of the screw thing, and not dead center which is how I had it originally.

Here it is:

Here are some more cards. I scraplifted the Little Birdie one. It is adorable! I gave it to our little friend that just competed and did very well in an Irish Dance competition!
